Visiting St. Catherine of Alexandria

Visiting St. Catherine of Alexandria

Upon Arrival

St. Catherine is tucked away southeast of 76th Street and Brown Deer Road on 76th Place. You are able to see our church building on the hill if you are coming south on 76th Street or east on Brown Deer Road. 76th Place is accessible from both of those streets.

Our main parking lot is directly across the street from the church building. There are a number of steps leading to the church from this lot. There is also a smaller lot to the south of the church. This is the only handicap accessible parking. The accessible entrance to church and our meeting room, the Granville Room, can be reached by following the covered sidewalk to a side entrance.

Parish Office

Our parish office is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. (These are our administrative assistant’s hours. Other staff hours vary.) The parish office can be reached by parking in the lot south of the church building. You will see a set of three glass doors from that lot. One of the doors is marked “Parish Office Entrance.” When you arrive, ring the bell and you will be buzzed in. Our offices are located on the second floor. If you are not able to manage the stairs, our staff will be happy to meet with you on the first floor.

Joining us at Mass

Our weekend Mass schedule: 4:30 p.m. on Saturday; 9:30 a.m. on Sunday. When you arrive, you’ll be greeted by one of our ushers who will also hand you a worship aid. In addition to seating on the main floor, there is also seating in our balcony.

Attending an Event in Our School or Gym

Our school building is across the street from our church. While we no longer have our own school in the building, we still use it for Christian formation classes and parish events. The main entrance to the school is on the north side of the building and is accessed from the main parking lot.

Do you have a priest?

This may sound like a funny question for a Catholic church, but you may have heard that St. Catherine doesn’t have a pastor. We actually have two priests who serve as our assisting priests. Both Fr. Dick Mirsberger and Fr. Joe Hornacek are senior (retired) priests who serve the sacramental needs of our parish community. In addition to Sunday Masses, they preside at our weekday Masses (Tuesdays, Thursdays and first Fridays at 8 a.m.) as well as our funerals and weddings. They are very much a part of our parish community.

We do have a parish director, Debbie Hintz, who is responsible for the work a pastor usually does in the parish, with the exception, of course, of celebrating our Masses and providing other sacramental ministries. Debbie was first appointed by Archbishop (now Cardinal) Timothy Dolan for a four year term and that term has been renewed twice by Archbishop Jerome Listecki.
