“The parish is where the Church lives. Parishes are communities of faith, of action, and of hope. They are where the gospel is proclaimed and celebrated, where believers are formed and sent to renew the earth. Parishes are the home of the Christian community; they are the heart of our Church. Parishes are the place where God’s people meet Jesus in word and sacrament and come in touch with the source of the Church's life.”

U.S. Catholic Bishops “Communities of Salt and Light: Reflections on the Social Mission of the Parish,” 1993

Active membership in a parish provides people the opportunity to enrich their faith life through worship within a community. Parishioners may join the parish leadership to help carry out the parish mission. Parish social activities provide the community the opportunity to put their faith into action. Not only is a person’s faith life enhanced by active involvement within a parish, but the community is enhanced as a whole as well.

If you are a Catholic and would like to become a member of St. Catherine, you can do so in several ways. Registration takes place after Masses on the first weekend of every month. You can also stop in at the parish office during regular business hours. Or, call to make an appointment with one of our staff members.

If you are not currently a Catholic but are interested in finding out more about the church, please call our Christian Formation Office at 414-365-2020, ext. 304. Inquiry sessions are held to let you ask your questions and help you decide if the Catholic Church is the church for you. If you decide to pursue reception into the church, we have a process to prepare you for Baptism (if you have not already been baptized), Confirmation and Eucharist.

Returning to the church
If you are a baptized Catholic, you are a member of a large and caring Catholic family - even if we haven’t seen you in awhile. If you’ve ever thought of returning to the church, our door is open for you. Call our parish office. One of our staff members will be happy to meet with you and answer any questions you may have.
